Meet the Artist

Hi, and thank you for visiting. My name is Tanya Leverington and I am the artist behind paws’n’paint

This is me with my little Chihuahua Alfie and his best pal Wolf!

I have always loved to paint and draw, ever since I can remember. From a young child I have fond memories of sitting with my grandfather after school, and trying to copy pictures of tigers and other animals that he had drawn for me. As I developed, I created a collection of my own animal charaters which grew and grew the more animals I discovered.

Like any student, I explored the animal kingdom with a passion. Although I have done and still do portray many subjects from people to landscapes, my love and true inspitation lies with the animals: both the majestic wildlife and the loyal domestic pet.

I continued my art studies throughout school and college, and went on to study art at a London university. I started my professional art career in 2003 with "Berkshire Portfolio". Being based in Berkshire myself it seemed a good place to start, and in addition to animal artwork, my commissions included people portraits, property and landscapes, monuments and more.

Since then, the majority of my art commissions have been pet portraits and I extended well beyond the Berkshire borders. Therefore, in 2007 I decided to dedicate myself to these subjects, and so paws’n’paint  was born.

You can see examples of my animal art on this website, but I have included examples of my other subjects on this page. I regularly continue to provide commissions other than animals, so please feel free to enquire about other subjects that are of interest.
